This is a piece I could tell right off that bat that you gave your full attention. I think there is a difference in the presentation you give in your pieces when your emotions control the canvas, as opposed to your mind. The line work is so well laid out, and the balance to the lines weight, as well as the subject of the piece itself, are so amazingly well balanced... I'm not sure how to put it either, but your work like this has such a strong look of controlled chaos to it, or perhaps you hid the visual complexities in plan site.
But the title so does match the look and feel to this piece. Everything about her screams broken.
All that is lain down broken, is so well portrayed. The snake sword sticks out as to how brutal the battle must have been, the shattered pieces of her bladed wings shows how powerful the blows had to be, and the severed angel wings shows just how heartless the attacker was. Seeing her laying in everything around, laying literally in her own shattered life.
What also catches my attention was her tearful face. At first i saw her screaming out in pain, but than i took a closer look at the eyes. I don't see the eyes (well, one eye really) that's crying out because her wings have been cut and she's injured. No, I see in her face a cry out of "How could you do this" "Why did you do this to me" "Please help me" cry of pain, like she's really only hurting from her emotions. Betrayal, cruelty, and uncaring actions against her make her cry so. Even more to it, she doesn't know now how to feel. Does she hate this person, does she want to try bring them back, ask for their help, or perhaps she's simply crying because now she knows she has to let them go.
I imagine this will be colored, and I look forward to seeing it as so. Oh yeah... sorry for looking far to deep into your work... as usually @__@
Exceptional work on her wings, hair, sword, and face by the way.

I just come back online after some awful virii that I heired from a friend - I give her my HD in order to copy some files and she returned it with some friends. Expect more days before I'm able to be online as previous ^^'
This pic is already colored, but I can't scanned it actually (you know, my comp is in such a bad health actually...)
As always, I'm so moved by your comment, it pleases me beyond words that someone takes so much time to look so deeply into my own work, that's such a reason to continue not to disappoint you!

"Fight, and you may lose; fight not, and you already have lost."
whoever said this probably never had to face a foe so formidable like a god, or close to it. even though she tried, fought with all her might. first her sword got ripped to it's pieces, then her wings. then she hit the ground with a mind-shattering force, and she thought the ground would break, too. to swallow her remainders wholly, wipe her from the face of existence.
but no, here she lies like a discarded puppet, and pain and frustration forms a lump in her throat so think as to strangle her. she wants to cry out, maybe release all that torments her, but to no avail; she is not allowed to die.
something is missing, something useful to change that. small, yet important. so close, yet so out-of-reach as if it was located on the other side of the universe. what is it? what can it be that eludes her, did so for countless years? she wants to cry for help.
but there is no one around...
I can't help but wonder what it is in your art that inspires me to write such train-of-thoughts on a character that's not even mine. I hope you don't mind it. I mean no insult by it.

You know, about what you wrote, that's completely the thema of the pic! I'm glad you were able to picture it so perfectly. That's why Bothan so fears to fight against Aesir.
Thank you for your lovely comment Anbessa!

Very nice, good observation by Blaits as well.
other things i seen there too was the small necklace with the cross pendant, and around her neck looks like some strange pendant or a Combination wheel lock is my assumption, locked and chained to a life one does not want.
very gorgeous peice and full of emotion like always hun always excellent, make a old hyena all sappy and teary.

very welcome, your work is more then excellent when it can stir feelings in others, and it has many times in me =),
Please keep up the great work, i'll have to commision if possible someday.
though i look closer using my laptops magnifyer and i see more detail in the pendant and it reminds me of a beautifull
jade peice i had a very long time ago as a child, it was very intricatly carved rectangular jade center, oriental as it was
a curled eastern style dragon embedded in a Gold Frame much like how it depicts in your art

To commission me? Well, I may open my commission list this summer, to finance my trip to the USA. That will depend about the money ^^'
The pendant I have is the first one I ever bought for me, and from that one I continue to buy several others jewels with carbon. It's modern and deep with meaning, as a key code inside of the carbon.
I would like to know what your jade piece exactly looks like, but it seems you have lost it...

Hehe yes to commish sometime as finances permit
Ohh visiting the USA? hope you travel to a good place, Hawaii is excellent! well comming
from a person that lives in hawaii and all, though its very hot at this time of year.
And the pendant yes its has long disapeared thru the ages, perhaps if i decide to search about the
jewelry i may find it tucked away but im not sure. And im also quite not sure if there was a reproduction
of its like as it was purchased back at a local swap meet over 36 years ago as my parents recall before
it was given to me. Though i have suspect of where it went either in old jewelry or it grew feet and walked
with more, unscrupulous family members.
