A short poem I wrote before bed and posted in my journal the other day. I realized it should really be submitted, so those other than my watchers can see it. Maybe I should start writing more often, and pen some cute stories...

To the Baby Girl I Hope to Find Some Day

I Say Goodnight

Smiling so soft
I say goodnight
While turning on your small nightlight

You smile back
Hold out your arms
I just can not resist your charms

Without a word
Your binky pumps
As back to bed your daddy jumps

You cuddle in
Your tail wags
Cheeks blushing as your diaper sags

I roll my eyes
And change you quick
Then give your nose a little lick

You coo at me
Start to giggle
Tushie crinkling as you wiggle

Back into bed
And all tucked in
I gaze at you and sweetly grin

I hold you close
Patting your bum
While lullabies I start to hum

So sleepy now
All set for bed
Upon my chest you rest your head

You close your eyes
Give a small yawn
And settle in until the dawn

Slipping away
Into dreamlands
Kept safe and warm within my hands

With daddy near
You drift to sleep
My love inside your heart to keep

Smiling so soft
I say goodnight
And stay with you til morning light
