One of my personal favorite drawings. I did this during my freshman year of college ('94-'95). Back then, Turja's husband was a leopard named Skiline, a character originally created by my cousin. They were both rockers and they both liked explosions and fire, so it seemed natural to draw them like Beavis and Butt-head. Shortly after drawing this, I tried to do a cleaned-up version on unlined paper, but I abandoned it because there was something about the spontaneity of this blue-pen-on-looseleaf drawing that I couldn't recapture in the new version. During the time when I started to think about taking my characters public, I knew I would need to redefine the roles for a lot of them. I decided that Tommy would be a much better match for Turja, and since almost no one knew about my characters, it was no problem to retcon Tommy and Turja into a married couple. I think there's still some of Beavis' influence in Turja. My cousin doesn't draw and doesn't do anything with his characters anymore, so Skiline's future is up to me. I don't know what I'm going to do with Skiline, if anything.
