I love spaceflight, and I also love alternate history. Here is a concept drawing I did of an expanded Skylab, which I simply call Skylab Station (because NASA was very careful to call Skylab an Orbital Workshop, holding out for an actual Space Station). To the far right is the original Skylab A, and to the far left is Skylab B, which was built but never flown in our timeline. Additional modules include further docking ports, radiators, and solar wings; the central module would have been lofted by a Saturn IB, and the further modules by the Space Shuttle. In this alternate timeline, Skylab Station was in orbit until 1986, when it was deorbited by a kamikaze space tug after the station lost attitude control.
