This was, by and far, the weirdest thing that could've happened in Lumessa's lifetime.

As the 'pet' Pokemon of professor Whitebeam (an up-and-coming professor, focusing his research in the field of natural Pokemon growth, body chemistry and occasionally behavioral psychology), she was naturally subject to a certain amount of poking (ha,ha), prodding and the occasional psychological/behavioral experiment, more often than not as the control group.

But Whitebeam loved his little Dedenne, and would never allow any kind of chemical testing or experimentation be done on her. Her getting into his makeshift home lab, and ingesting an experimental serum that he had yet to perfect and was in fact still ages away from finishing while he was out getting groceries...that was another matter.

After her snack (which tasted quite a bit like sugar water), she had gone outside the house for some fresh air and to run around in the garden a bit. After a few minutes, Lumessa realized that the flowers and plants seemed to be a bit shorter than she remembered. She may have been small, but she wasn't stupid. Something was up.

A few more moments of observation and she realized that the flowers were getting smaller and smaller with each passing moment; or rather she was getting bigger and bigger. There was a brief moment of elation that ran through her as she realized what this meant. Lumessa's happiness faded away as she grew large enough to see over the fence surrounding Whitebeam's house.

Panic begun to set in as she expanded bigger and bigger; what would become of her? Would Whitebeam be angry? What would he do with a gigantic Dedenne? Would she keep on growing until she decimated the planet underneath her bulk? or would she simply rupture like some disgusting water balloon?

All her questions would remain unanswered, as after a few more minutes, she could clearly see that she was done growing. Standing now at just shy of 3 stories tall, she felt a surge of relief. Lumessa's problem now would be finding her owner without causing a scene. She gingerly stepped over the now laughably small fence and wandered out into the middle of the street.

She was a little concerned at how the road cracked and crumbled underneath her paws, but she felt confident that she could find her absent professor quickly and without incident.

Then the neighbor's wife started screaming.

Holy lord, this one took a while to finish.

So as I browse FA, I can see a lot of really good macro Pokemon pics, but none of a macro Dedenne. So I wanted to be the first! Dedenne reminds me very strongly of Raichu, and I've got a real soft spot for the 'chu line (as you all probably already know).

I also find it really interesting to take something very very small (and preferably cute), and make it really, really BIG (and still cute). And with Dedenne being one of the smallest new Pokemon from X & Y, I felt utterly driven to draw this one.

The story is admittedly not one of my best, but I'll go back and revise it sometime in the future if I can.

If anybody has ideas for pics they want to shoot my way, gimme a shout and I'll see if I can get around to it!
