"Roly-Polympics 2006: The Winter Games: Men's Biathlon"[old]
As the world gets ready to converge on Sochi, Russia, to participate in the 2014 Winter Olympics, I thought I'd begin to post some classic "Roly-Polympics" cartoons (originally inspired by the Steven Lisberger animated film "Animalympics") in celebration of the Winter Games of 2006 (these gags of which were originally seen in my gallery of "The Round House"). I'll try to post one cartoon a day, leading up to the opening ceremonies in Sochi on February 6th...
This first "R-P" offering depicts one of the more unusual sporting events: the Men's Biathlon" - which combines cross-country skiing with target shooting. A rather burly badger is one of the contestants who (supposedly) shot five out of five targets... but a round rabbit official doesn't accept the massive mustelid's method of insuring his pinpoint accuracy!
(Regrettably, I never found the spare time to render more "Roly-Polympics: Winter Games" cartoons in 2010, but I hope to create, draw, scan, and post [in February] some all-new cartoons of corpulent competitors for 2014.)
