done in 2003 at age 17, this is an oil speedpaint I did based on a photograph.
I don't know who took the original picture, but I'm giving credit to whoever it was :P
scanned really blurry, tried to make a better copy, but this is the best one. still figuring out the new scanner.
I like this a lot, though admittedly it looks like the white tree is morphing into clouds. doesn't look that way in life though so oh well XD

I think the way that tree and the clouds kinda blend together, with those fresh, jagged mountains behind - makes the whole scene look volcanic - as if the tree were a plume of ash and smoke or a geyser instead of a tree. That thought makes the picture more interesting, to me at least.
Oils are better photographed with good light, rather then scanned. The more glossy paints are especially bad because they are so reflective. This is a really nice painting, though, and it does look like a Bob Ross.
I wish furs would post more stuff like this. Contrary to popular belief, I think fur can go great with oil. Real media is so unappreciated in this digital "undo-button" fandom. Good work.

Just make sure to do a fair amount of research before you choose one. http://www.dpreview.com/ is an excellent resource.
very interesting work. if you had put a wee rabbit in it you could have declared it a furry painting, but even so, another nice and beautiful picture of an Apache on the hunt is appreciated as well.
the sky makes me think of either the hour before sundown, or a storm coming up. the lighting has no yellow tones in it, so I tend to the latter.
