Welcome the newest little family member, Chai Latte (aka Chai)! :3
She's about 5 months (we think) and is a Chow mix. I think she's mixed with a Shiba Inu but can't be for sure.
Edit-Update:
We found out that she's almost a year old (9-10 months) by the vet. She wont get much bigger, he said. She may gain a pound or two more though. She is also not teething like I thought she was (she was real mouthy when we first bright her home) and she may also be a full shiba (we need to get a DNA test for this though).

Holy crap! She looks like my Koda. He's a chow mix too. Don't know what he's mixed with but they're the cutest!

I know that it's been a long time BUT I've found out what Chai is. XD The DNA test said that she was a Chinese Shar Pei, Pomeranian, and Basenji mix! ..... Such a crazy mix. But her ancestry has a lot of Jindo. She looks almost exactly like a Jindo too. Lol
But your little Koda is so adorable! ;3; It's like they're siblings, but not. xD

He's over 16lbs now, which I think is as big as he is going to get, so yeah she is larger.
He is surprisingly well built for either of his parent breeds, (which works out better for him now that we're in the winter months, he can still go out for short walks while the little dogs stay inside).

Well I found out that a lot of people who breed mixes to fill the "designer dog" market don't use AKC standard dogs.
I also bet that most responsible breeders would want their pedigree pups to go to the shows, thus wouldn't sell their show quality animals to just any breeder. I got my little guy from the lady at the end of the street when her daughter developed severe allergies (he sheds all the time lol) and she had gotten the dog via a breeder in Ohio. I literally picked him up the day she was about to take him to the Humane Society, because I wanted to know what he was.
Though I have also heard of a concept called "hybrid vigor" which causes the offspring of two different species to be larger and in some rare cases, healthier than the parents, though I thought this only applied to different species. With dogs, the different genes would only serve to increase the diversity of the gene pool of the two families, I would think, since dogs are all the same species.
