Nah, I say he would use his powers to manipulate people into a position where he can choke them, then make them forget. Candice could have been strangled hundreds of times by him, and not even know it.
That seems a better use of powers for him. He seems more like a manipulative guy that brute strength. Plus, increased strength just makes the strangling take less time, and he appears to be the type to prolong it so that he can savor their fear.

Uh... except then maybe you'd try to strangle me... and that can't be good for neither my overall health nor the perfect fluff of fur around my throat. That patch IS extra plush... and so nicely symmetrical! Kind of almost shaped like a heart in the right light I think...
