Concept sketch of Dominika the beluga. I wanted a character with enormous tits who's a bit more "curvy" rather than outright fat. Also belugas are like, my totem animal. Maybe this is sacrilege? Whatever.

Um, yeah, sure...it's a little embarrassing to explain I guess, sorry.
I'm typically a woman of science, but sometimes I find it helps to call upon a "spirit animal" or totem for guidance in tough times, not just by considering its standard meaning/association but also doing some meditation and trying to commune. The spider's pretty much been with me all my life for better or for worse, but last time I did some meditating my mind hung out with a beluga, got some rad advice, and had a good time, so I guess right now the chubby white whale is another one for me.
If you actually care, feel free to look up spirit animals for some good info!

Fascinating.
Meh, I don't see science and a belief in supernatural forces as necessarily mutually exclusive. (Don't get me started on Creationists, though...)
I must confess, most of my familiarity with animal totemism relates to the nahualli and uayob of Mesoamerica. Are these spirit animals of yours borne from an older shamanic/folk tradition?
