Preview of the image for the upcoming chapter of 'Off The Beaten Path', which you can read (if you aren't already) here - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11578732 . The eventual image for the chapter will have shading and whatnot, but I couldn't resist posting a teaser first ;)
If you enjoy Red Lantern or read Heretic, you might actually wanna give this one a read, too. It's a new story I've been posting (for FREE, just like Heretic) here on FA. It takes place in the Red Lantern world, on the continent of Carvecia. Though the current cast is not made up of Red Lantern characters, there will be some run-ins later on, as all Red Lantern 'verse books eventually careen into the main storyline ;) I'm not saying a certain cattle dog might show up eventually, but. . . well. . . .
If you missed it above, you can read it here! - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11578732

Probably not. He would still be blind even though he can see. I know it does not make sense, but let me try to explain, at least as how my housemate whom has been blind since birth put it...
The brain is adaptive, and with a life of living without sight the brain will channel and use the areas for sight to other tasks. Smell, touch, hearing, ect. Without a baseline of "seeing" while young, the neural pathways to make sense of what you see has long been re routed and taken over.
Basically, you would see, but you would have no way of ever putting what you see together in a useful way. A face would look like a hodgepodge of shape and color, but no real way to process it as a face. over time, you probably could learn to interpret what you see for what it is, but it would be completely new for a new face, and you would never know it was a face till you learned this new image was another face.
