Whatever you just said or did... I suggest apologising. Swiftly.
Every few years I remember I like Star Wars. Not so much the films, but the concepts, particularly around the old republic era when both jedi and sith would be found in significant numbers. And Alyssa would be totally borderline as a jedi. She means well, but stuff tends to happen around her and people get hurt. Then she gets angry and other people get hurt. Then she acquires new lightsabers.
(Wow, lol, is this the first time I've downgraded a mature sketch to a general audience final piece? :o Usually I do the opposite, but frankly I thought she looked badass enough that I didn't want to antagonise her by stealing her undies.)

He teaches it in the timeline after the original trilogy and he's pretty much the only jedi left standing. He teaches Han and Laya's kids, and a few others.
It's basically bhuddist philosophy of the Middle Way. One of his students ends up finding a very nasty Sith spirit (kinda like Obie Wan was throughout the second and third movies) and ends up going Dark Side hardcore, but on the whole it is a far more balanced teaching than the previous Jedi Council. Repression is bad, mmmkay?

Emotion makes a good servant, but a poor master.
The Sith erred in allowing their emotions to take over, they succumbed to the dark side and did very evil things because their emotions were not leashed. Even Palpataine, the most reasoned and logical Sith out there, gave in to emotions far too readily.
The Jedi, on the other hand, went to the other extreme. Repression. Jedi stagnated and lost touch with the population they were guarding because they were so against emotions that they went totally logic and control.
Just listen to Yoda's lecture about Love being bad. That alone should show you the problem the Jedi had.
After Vader redeemed himself by pitching Palpatine down a shaft, Luke opened up his own academy, one which taught that there must be both light and dark to the Force, and that one must balance them if one is to truly become a Master. Bringing balance to the Force, as prophesied. He warned against allowing your emotions to get the better of you, and warned against stagnating with no feelings at all. Not all of his students managed to do this, however those that did were far more powerful and in touch with the people around them.

The Jedis? Logic and control? When? O_o From what we saw and read, a lot of them just transgressed the code they were supposed to follow on a daily basis.
But it's not entirely their fault, since the Code has been perverted millenias before the era of the movies.
The true Jedi Code, the first one, goes as follow:
Emotion, yet peace.
Ignorance, yet knowledge.
Passion, yet serenity.
Chaos, yet harmony.
Death, yet the Force.
