The heavy rock music continued on behind the thick concrete walls. A gentle breeze whisked through the alleyway, the stars shone brightly overhead. The chaos was over, all could relax now.
With a stumbling breath of the cool air, the alleyway door marked "Employee Personnel ONLY" firmly opened and shut behind the short ferret tail.
"Oh god that was rough... Every time we get one step higher the competition does too." shi commented to hirself as shi gently leaned against the wall, loosening hir necktie and coat. Despite the ambient temperature, shi was overheated and need something to cool hir down.
Hung from hir neck was a four stringed bass. It's blue paint shimmered in the moonlight.
As hir breath turned into a small mist, shi shook hir head and contemplated, "Heck, we can't keep up with this. It doesn't matter how much we practice, it doesn't matter how hard we try. They've got talent, real talent. It might just be time for us to say 'Strikhedonia' and leave."
Another breeze gently whisked through the alleyway, the ferret turned hir head to the sky and watched as the stars twinkled. Hir eyes began to water at the thought of giving up. What would she do then? Shi really didn't have much else in terms of hopes and dreams. Sure shi went to college, but shi's just working as a cop now. It'll take awhile to pay off all those loans. Real life is so boring. That's why shi joined up with these misfits.
Just then, the door opened excitedly, a pink stripped cat who had to duck to get through the doorway excitedly addressed the ferret, "Jade! What the hell are you doing out here? Get your ass in here, they're calling for an encore!"
Maybe things wouldn't be so bad.
I very rarely get commissions, but when I saw some of maybemantis's sketchs, I couldn't resist. This has got to be one of my favorite styles.
For some reason, I find myself gravitating towards Jade for the rare times I actually get commissions. Maybe it's true, maybe Jade is my muse. I had considered that awhile back, but I think it's true. Shi's the only character that I only draw for just fun, and shi's the only character that I get commissions of.
Well, regardless. I hope you all like it :3 make sure to send Mantis some love!
