A step-by-step tutorial on how to make a good Duct-Tape-Dummy (or DTD for short).
Through trial and tape we have tested, and this is the best way to make one that will last for your maker's needs!
1. Gather, Plunder, and Buy all the materials you will need for the grand adventure ahead! Put the materials in a pile near where you are going to be mummified.. er, make your DTD!
Paper towels
'Painters overalls' are preferred ($3 at walmart) or you can use old clothes (Thrift store works really well)
Scissors (preferably surgical scissors with a flat tip)
Markers (Crayons don't work, sadly.)
Duct Tape 3-4 rolls (Please buy the 'Scotch Brand Pro-Strength Professional HVAC' if you can, this tape actually sticks and stays in place! The regular 'duck' tape is a quack, and usually bursts open and falls apart when your maker tries to work with your dummy. If you cannot buy the 'Scotch' brand, the next best thing is 'Duck Brand Professional Strength / Tough' or 'Gorilla Tape'.)
Lastly, get some water and set it nearby, you will get thirsty!
2. Bribe your friends/family/roommates/a random stranger on the street! 2 people is ideal for getting it done quickly.
Usually, a pizza works best, but money, snacks, and other options are available! Remember, your helpers are going to be touching questionable areas, it's best to compensate them.
Important note! During the entire process, be sure to let your helpers know if they are wrapping too tightly and cutting off circulation, or if they are wrapping too loosely and it seems to be baggy.
3. Now get your old clothes/painters overalls on, and wear some underwear for crying out loud, unless you are trying to streak out of your DTD at the end. Wear underwear that you don't care about, this way if it accidentally gets cut up, it won't matter.
Take everything out of your pockets and put it in a safe location.
4. Start by having your helper(s) tape down your ankle. Then move to the crotch area and secure it all around, making a 'Duct-Tape' underwear. This is very important to start at these places, because your dummy can move around and give you an unintentional dropped-crotch effect or make your legs/wrists shorter then they actually are.
5. Now tape the chest area (guys across the nipples, girls right below and above the boobs). Follow it up by taping the armpit/shoulder to 'pin' the clothes in place there, as well as the wrist and right above the elbow. If you happen to have short sleeves, or if your wrists are already longer then the end of your sleeves, use paper towels to make a layer between the tape and you (this isn't a waxing session). Make sure you can still move a little, so you can be comfortable as the mummification continues.
6. Now that every important area is covered, it's time to work on taping up the legs! It sticks better if you work down from the 'underwear' and up from the ankles. After one layer is down, get ready to do a second layer! If you have the 'Duck' brand, use three layers. During this time, it is important to make sure your legs are slightly spread (don't do the splitz) and your knees are slightly bent. Your feet will begin to tire quickly, so just let your helpers know if you need to wobble back and forth for a moment.

I just made a DTD with a friend about a week ago. A few notes about mine:
* Used a painter's smock from Lowe's. Very lightweight, easy to tape to.
* Started at the ankles and worked to the neck.
* Used 1 roll of "Tartar" cheap-o brand tape, and a couple regular Duck Tape ones.
* Only used 1 layer.
* Only had one helper.
* Took a little over an hour.
* Did lines across the cuts, not X's and O's.
* Had no issues, came out great.
Great guide, tho! I'll keep this in mind if I have to make another DTD.
