This was originally drawn in 2012 (I didn't proofread the grey type at the bottom of the image and missed the incorrect year). This little joke ad shows Penance (the grey grizzly on the left) with a character created by a fellow artist based on Penance's earlier designs. The brown bear is called "Ambrosia" and she suffers from dwarfism (which would become evident when puberty would start, usually around 9-10 years of age). She works as an undercover agent for the FBI, and seems to have a really good record for catching the same sorts of folks Penance goes after. So the team-up is a natural!
On a somewhat-related note, since all the various species I have on the Skunkworks world are of varying shapes and sizes, I thought I would point out that Penance appears as the typical size for a 6-year-old female grizzly bear, while Ambrosia appears as the typical size for a 9-to-10-year-old brown bear. If Penny (the original inhabitant of Penance's form) had been allowed to grow into an adult, she'd be about 7.5 feet tall! Ambrosia, on the other hand, would only be about 5 to 5.5 feet tall (if she hadn't had the gene for dwarfism).
Going by this size reference, a 10-to-12-year-old grizzly kid would be taller than the fully-grown Valencia (of Skunkworks). Different species are different sizes there, just like they are here.
Anyway, this was a picture drawn a couple years ago that I just finished the text on the other night. Will be going through e-mails tonight and sending out the final design for the first commission piece. Lab results came back better than before (but not great), and the hand tremors seem to be getting less intrusive.

A little. Creatinine is still 2.6, which is less than the previous 3.1, but higher than what it should be (around 1.5 or so). Hemoglobin and Hematocrit levels are low, but may be based upon overhydration. Prograf and white blood cell levels are good. I go back in on the 11th of February for more labs (unless they request me to come earlier).
Starting to regain muscle that was lost between September and early December. The doctor I spoke to said the tremors could be either the medication side effects, or the body reacting to the stress of having the muscles worked over and built back up. The hand tremors still come and go, but they seem to be less severe and don't seem to last as long as they did. Good enough for me!

improvement is improvement, so that's something to be grateful for. Not going to pretend to understand half of this, medical jargon tends to be lost on me as I've stated before. Even so I hope that things continue to improve and that your labs proceed without incident.
Glad to hear you're starting to recover, I'm sure the tremors are nothing serious but all the same just take it easy and try not to overdo it. At any rate hopefully we can chat again sometime soon =3

Feeling a bit better, but still not 100%. Maybe 85% or so, but at least things are improving (although slowly, it seems). Been going through boxes of old artwork and uncovered this gen about a week ago and decided to scan it in and do all the text. It's been awhile since I had posted any full color artwork.
Since grizzlies are a subspecies of brown bears, I'm not sure I think the height differences for adults there make sense, technically. But, I really like the idea of extremely large bear ladies.
It would be really cool to someday see a giant, adult version of Penance from you. Do you think you'll ever draw her as an adult?
I actually ran into pictures of Ambrosia (drawn by Bulletsoup) on Inkbunny when I was in the process of moving my art there. I don't like the subject matter, but I'll say the artist is extremely good.

I think they way I set up the bear species was to have two primary groups (Major and minor), where the sub-species in the Major group were larger than the other species in the minor group. The major group consists of Kodiak, Grizzly and Polar bears. They all grow to be very large. The minor group consists of Brown, Black, Sun and Panda bears, which are much smaller and shorter.
While an adult version of Penance doesn't appear anywhere, the original girl's family (her parents and younger sister) do appear in the "Penance" story, so you'll at least get an idea of how big she would have been by seeing her now-adult younger sister.
The Ambrosia comic was something he and I dreamed up in 2012 and I bet him 50 dollars he wouldn't have the balls to reveal that his bear character was actually an FBI agent. After I was surprised by him posting such an image, we joked about an earlier conversation where Penance showed up, and he decided to draw that into the comic. It wasn't a smooth story, but I think he had fun with it. I also lost 50 bucks.

I didn't read the whole thing, I don't remember those revelations. Given the... nature of the comic, it doesn't seem like such a big deal to reveal a seemingly underage character as an FBI agent though.
I really liked the art style, it had a very old fashioned comic feel to it. It'd be really well-suited to drawing more mature bears, but that sequence was the only thing in his gallery, if I recall.
I guess I will need to look at the Penance story. I first thought you were referring to the Creativity Challenge Meme, but I couldn't find them there. Am I overlooking something?

The full "Penance" story is still being written in longhand (the story was written earlier, but it was short with no descriptions). I work on it when my hands gets the jitters, since shaky hands don't really affect my typing too much. At my current pace, I'll have it done by Spring, when I'll send out a few copies to be proof-read by a few folks. Corrections and changes will be made based upon their reviews, and then I'll be able to start the artwork for it.
It's a pretty big story, and it covers three different realities, including our own!

I see. Derp, I thought it was already up somewhere.
I'll say I'm looking forward to it - hesitantly. I got a bit emotional reading the 'Creativity Challenge Meme', so we'll see. I don't think I can make myself *not* read it though... I'm sure the artwork alone will be worth the wait. How will you be making it available?

Awesome picture! i been watching Bulletsoup comic on IB and it was such a surprise the fact that Ambrosia was actually an adult with dwarfism, although i did suspected something already since for most of the comic she acted very confident, mentaly mature and way too experienced sexualy for being a 10 years old >XD
But it was even more surprising to see Penance teaming up with her LMAO.
Thanks alot for share this pic with us, Im glad to know you´re doing better James.

Nah. I've got hundreds of miscellaneous drawings I've been sorting through, and this was a colored one I just decided to add the text to and post online. For every picture I post of any character, you can bet there are a hundred more that never get posted. I've got a lot of Penance doodles, as I've been mostly working on her story and design. I no longer draw the Skunkworks comics or the portfolios, so I don't draw them as much anymore. Really, the only place the trio would be showing up would be in the pages of "Caterwaul", which won't come out until "Penance" comes out...
I also haven't drawn much porn over the past several years. Just got tired of it, really. Every now and then I might draw up some R- or X-rated picture, but not too often.
Truthfully, I'm glad to see very little of my work gets posted or passed around online anymore. I was hoping that if I stuck back long enough, folks would eventually move on to other artists who crank out porn relentlessly. I'd much rather focus on serious stories and such, though the occasional funny picture or comic does slip through the cracks of my mind.

I dunno. It's never been done. Penance doesn't really work for anyone, but on occasion she might be on the same side as some officers of the law (or even a certain bounty hunter group). Her normal whereabouts and routines, including where she resides when not "working" or unknown. She has been known to damage those who get in her way, whether they are "the good guys" or "the bad guys".
It's generally best to let her do her work and stay as far away from ground zero as possible, haha!
