Wow, that lady sounds bogus. most people would be happy for the dedication and commitment that people put into helping others. that toucan girl was probably one of those snobby characters. :/ well at least Edwards heart was in the right place. But there's gotta be more going on here besides the breakup problem. can't wait to see what happens next. ^^
I think that the reason there are alot more gay people than straight in the fandom is mainly because of the core of furries: Cute fuzzy humanimals. I don't think the majority of straight population bothers with anything like this. From all the straight guys I know, only 2 out of those 86 bother with anime/cartoons, one of who is a brony. (I am talking about generally people I've talked with irl). Most of the others are into Tichu, football/soccer, clubing, famous series like GoT/HIMYM/BBT and mainly music!
Furries aren't exactly a "manly" thing so majority of the fandom is gay because they can actually relate to it. The fact that women can be paranoid is something that gives a fine explanation of why homosexuality increases, because alot of people have a relative female that acts in a way that annoys them repeatedly.
However, homosexually is gaining rights because it's really close to the woman rights! It's not weird that two issues that have been supressed by humanity since forever are getting solved in the last 100years!

I think another point is that the core of the Fandom is about accepting others the way they are no matter their preference. With that kind of atmosphere and also the digital aspect of it, people with homosexual tendencies feel more at ease with being open about who they are as oppose to some who may not feel such around family or co-workers in the real world.
