Eager to improve his weak physique, Mike asks Rocky if he can join him in training as his workout partner. The husky agreed. And thanks to his trusty shrink ray, now they always exercise together - though it doesn't do Mike's health quite so much good.

More unapologetic indulgence of my musky foot-sniffing fetish presented for your delectation/disgust.
Believe it or not, it's been more than three years since the last time I did a proper Rocky foot fetish picture (which, of course, was The Summer Job). Having gotten into the mood for drawing him again recently - and with this project having been in the pipeline since March 2013, as the second volume of my Great Unfinished Collection shows - I thought it was about time to get the job done and give him a fresh outing.
This project went through several stages of conception. At first it was planned as a single image depicting the first panel only, then I soon extended the idea to include two further panels, namely 3 and 4. The remaining two panels - 2 and 5 - were much more recent additions, having only been drawn out in the last week or so. I had debated for a while whether to submit them as one page, two pages or individual images, but in the end I went for the first option. I may subsequently upload higher-res versions of some if not all of the panels.
As many may have realised, this is the first time I have drawn Rocky actually wearing shoes. Seeing as Rexar has a regular pair of sneakers that have appeared in many of his past outings, I thought it would be fun to give Rocky a distinctive pair of his own too. They are not based on any sneaker design in particular, though they do incorporate elements of various well known brands as well as some similarities with Rex's shoes. I also thought the black and yellow colour scheme would suit him quite well.
The first panel was probably the most awkward in this comic, given the deceptive difficulty of Rocky's pose and the full-length appearance compared to all the other close-ups. The pose never quite came out right and the face went through a couple of redraws, though the result is still distinctly cartoony and inaccurate. Panel three was also very tricky as I had all sorts of trouble trying to get the angle right on Mike's positioning, and in the end I was forced to settle with it. Among the other issues, I'm not entirely sure what I Was going for on Mike's restraints or whether they even work as a physical arrangement, while his position relative to Rocky's foot does seem to shift about a bit. And as is so often the case, the background was a complete afterthought - don't ask me where on earth the setting is meant to be because I haven't a clue.
I have started to simplify my approach to shading somewhat in recent times, using fewer layers than I used to, which is helping to speed things up a little bit. I have noticed however that this is tending to make my work look quite a bit darker overall, and I'm hoping this isn't an issue for viewers with dimmer monitor calibrations. I'm still tweaking the technique, so it may change in due course.
In case you haven't already spotted them, there are a couple of alternative versions available of this piece. There is a 'no speech bubbles' version should you wish to admire the paws without obstruction, or for those who dislike the musky stuff, there is a 'clean' version with all the sweat/dirt/fluff/discolouration removed.
I'm enjoying some time off work at the moment, so I could have some more pictures uploaded within the next week or so. I'm also seriously considering doing a big batch upload of some of my old/unfinished stuff, so keep an eye out.

That makes me glad to hear besides i am about the same build of mike so he will have a more even workout.
now that we got some of that done I have to admit i think this one shot comic really shows off the span of your skills you do and keep the size difference even at different angles, you show off astounding knowledge of light source and shading, and you kept true to your positioning of the bodies ya also did great with the the shoes I know they can be annoying but you do them well.

I've never drawn anything like that last panel before. I've imagined it loads of times, but it's a bugger to depict with the right kind of atmosphere.
I still appreciate written descriptions of such scenes though. They can evoke senses a picture can't.

I missed your pics with Rocky stomping Myke. They are my faves! And you really got a special rhythim to do you art. 3 year to finish it? I can't hold a pic for so long....
Anyway, Excluding the "awkward position" in the first panel, the whole comic is great. Maybe you are really making the pics a lil darker, but somehow this make a good mood for the situation. You tied at giant and musk foot of a big dog and then being put inside his shoe. If you style was completely cartoonic then the shade would looks weird, but I think is awesome in this way!

Like Zp92 said, excellent perspective on the sneaker! This just begs for praise in more ways than one :3.
For starters, the dynamic lighting is excellent! It's especially helpful where there was not so much light on the inside of the sneaker, but it's realistic too. Not too dark, but just right to see all the details around and inside it. I like your last panel where we see a cut-open look of the shoe, and how it conforms perfectly to Rocky's foot.
I like the symmetry of Rocky's foot as well as the choice of lighting in the perspective shots. Really gives it depth and perspective. It compliments it quite nicely!
Their bodies and proportions are spot-on. Not too big, not too small (even if Mike is a micro lol), but all in all, I'd say just right! You've made Rocky's figure very well with his well-toned muscular body and anthro-like figure. It's quite appealing!
Overall, job well done as always, and keep up the good work. Every bit of effort you put in to these no matter how long it takes is worth the wait, and makes you stand out in your own way from the rest :3 <3.

Many thanks for the feedback! In truth the cut-open shot is probably a little too closely-fitting to Rocky's foot, but I preferred giving it a distinctly tight, squashed-in look. And glad you like the lighting - it's often one of the puzzles you have to solve with artwork as to determining what will be the best angle for the shading, and sometimes I do have to change my mind midway through to find a light that brings out the shapes and forms better.
Anyway, thank you again.
Anyway, thank you again.
Wow this is really awesome and so you did a great job on the alternative version as well. I love the pictures and it have lots of good details including the little story for the comic too. Also, I wonder how Mike got into the situation where he is small and Rocky is huge? lol
You can probably see that kind of answer on many other submissions around here. It's hard to explain really, it's a fetish. Why are some people into scat, gore, macro/micro and any fetish that is definitely out of the "norm". It's just like that, I don't know really why I like it, I just do, and knowing I'm not the only one is enough reason to believe it's something "normal" to like weird fetishes in the first place. Sorry if my answer is kinda lackluster.
I can't stand it >.< This crush you've given me for this Rocky Character of yours is one that has grown on me. I can't get enough of him dommy attitude or the fact he uses his feet to torture and tease those around him. Mmph, I just love this character of yours so damn much haha. Great job!
Sure it's nice seeing Rocky again, and it's cool you're characterizing him and giving him more signature things.
It does look darker, but it's no really a big issue. Anything else, panel 5 looks more eerie than intended. Good thing you're simplifying stuff a bit; less stress for you.
Off the unfinished collection, this is the one I wanted to see the most...

Yes, I think this was rather a popular teaser in the latest volume of the collection. Glad it didn't disappoint.
And I have been trying to characterise Rocky a bit, because he is a distinctly different person to Rexar - or at least the 'good' Rexar anyway.
Thanks!

Thanks thaz! As I mentioned in the description, the sneakers are not based on any particular shoe. But I do have a pair of sneakers in real life that are a few years old now. Mine actually look a bit more like Rexar's.
And if they smell anything like mine can...

Heh - well I wouldn't assume anything about my activity level at this stage. I am trying to get more artwork done this calendar year as I was disappointed with the relatively small amount of uploads I produced in 2013. But I'm only this active at the moment because I've had a fair amount of time off work in the last month - it probably won't last.
Still, I'm always on the site, even if I'm not uploading stuff. Thanks anyway.

Heh - that's all right. Wherever it's not too much effort to do so, or wherever it doesn't spoil the point of the picture, I'm prepared to make clean alternatives. Usually it just requires switching off the visibility of a few layers, though a couple of panels here required a bit more effort to remove pencil-drawn objects as well.
Well I often don't differentiate much when it comes to size-difference fantasies. Many of my pictures don't make it clear whether the dominant character is giant or the submissive/viewer is small, so I tend to just tag them as macro and micro and let the viewer decide.
O.O why didn't I see this sooner?!? D: Well, guess that's what I get for switching accounts. X.x
but anyways. Nice work. I love Rocky's dominace so much. I wish I didn't quit making art for others, tjen I would've drawn Rockyin a foot fetish picture myself! X.x but yeah, good job. Btw, looove the musk <3

RRRex! *laughs* Figures, watching FA all day during work, and when I head home and do errands you post the most awesome thing ever! This is great dude, and I'm very glad to see the alternate versions as well so that there's something for everyone! You've done a great job on all the multiple poses, and I especially like that close up of Rocky's toes and ball pad 'cause it looks like he's scrunching them so teasingly for little Mike, squishing out that awesome scent.
Now personally, I think I'll keep the clean unlabelled one 'cause though I love the scent of footpaws, for me it's about a natural scent, not one that may be potentially contaminated by dirt and other crud, so that works best for me... plus I'd rather think Mike is getting to have the 2nd most amazing experience of his life (1st being the fact that he has access to Rexar's, hehe).
Gorgeous work, shading, texturing and detail RRRex - and an astonishing difference from the first few images we saw of Rocky. :)

I'm sceptical as to how much I'll really feel motivation to improve from this point at present. There was a lot that needed improving upon in my earlier artwork - hence the dramatic change to nowadays - but I don't think all that much has changed since 2011 now.
Gah, I always get super excited when I see stuff from you XD Your work has always been awesome and one of my favorites, not just because of theme but also because of style X3
This looks amazing as always and I love seeing rocky feet XD Did you ever think about doing something with rocky and vore? X3 Protein shake!

It's hard to believe that much time has passed since the last foot-based pic with Rocky. As if this is any surprise, I quite like this new pic. X3 Poor Mike always seems to find himself at the bad end of a shrink ray. |3 I do wonder if he'll ever get to be the big one, though it's not like I don't approve of him being the small one. :P
Anyway, it looks great, dude. I like the attention to detail you have on the shoe and the paw. It definitely makes them look dirty and smelly. ;3

Depends if you consider this macro - no real indication as to his size here. I did say Mike had been subjected to a shrink ray, though I suppose it's open to interpretation.
As for size-difference pics where the underside of Rocky's paw is visible, there is this one, of course: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1417994/

There's nothing bad to say about it, I'm visiting your web pages to see, if there's a new post and today i was extremly surprised, this pick is sho hot man. I <3 so much, <3 your work, but this one just astonished me, coz i kinda prefer Rocky, what to say, just awesome. Maybe more like this
RipRoarRex, English is a marvelous language. It is a mix of ancient dialects interwoven to form a fantastic modern plethora of descriptive delights and expressive erudition. However, common words cannot describe how much I love this but I'm going to attempt and go over and identify, as best I can, what I love about this illustration. At the same time I'll be providing some of my critique as well. It's only fair that I give this a similar analysis I gave "Cassie - Nine to Five" which is the last drawing of yours that astounded me greatly. So...here I go.
To begin, the dark background is rather plain although it's apposite since it mainly directs our attention to Rocky and what he's doing to Mike. I would say it emits a dark vibe that corresponds to Mikes humiliating fate. The angle in panel 1 is well done & I noticed that the angle placement is very similar to the angle in "The Dominant Male" which you drew last June. Rocky's facial expression is even identical to the previous one except he has his mouth closed in this new one. While I was comparing the two I did noticed that there was less texturing in this new one, but it's not really a hindrance. I also noticed his right leg is awkwardly placed. For me, it's just one of those small aspects I don't catch when I'm gazing at the whole picture until I focus on that particular aspect. Of course it didn't impede my understanding of what's happening in the picture.
In addition, I do noticed that you've put in more detail on Rocky's feet, particularly in the wrinkles below his paw pad in panel 2 & I like how he's clenching his toes to intimidate the micro. I also like the musk emanating from Rocky's paw and sneaker. Which brings me to my favorite item on this image.
Rocky's sweet, sexy, sizable, sweaty & smelly sneaker.
You did a superlative job on the whole shoe RRRex. I love everything about it. I admire your efforts on bringing this brilliant idea to life. The sneaker is diligently detailed especially in panels 3 & 4 where you can see the wrinkles, sweat & dirt on the Achilles notch, the lining, the midsole & all around the shoe. The lighting inside the shoe is just the right amount & you didn't forget to give that nice insole that brown worn-out appearance with pieces of dirt and grass on it, which I like. I even adore that subtle footprint on the insole as well as the yellow arrow on the toe box, which gives the shoe that athletic appearance. I also respect that you give Rocky's trainer similar aesthetics with that of Rexar's trainer which I recognized by observing the outer stitching and the tread lines on the side of it.
Furthermore, I noticed in panel 3 there are these subtle black lines around the sneaker to emphasize the horror Mike is about to experience and then again in panel 4 where Rocky is conditioning his paw inside his shoe. I really love your final panel where we can examine a see-through perspective of the sneaker and how it flawlessly coincides with Rocky's foot. The close up highlights the claustrophobic tightness Mike is in. Also, if I factor in that Rocky’s trainer presumably has no mesh for his foot (and the micro) to breath, that'll ensure the spaniels inevitable demise much to the husky's smug & sadistic satisfaction. This is definitely my favorite drawing you've done within the last year or perhaps since I discovered you. I liked Rocky before but after seeing this superb rendering, I like him even more.
Even some of the dialogue is very fine. I particularly fancy the line, "MMM, There. All nice and safe and cozy. You're not getting away now my puppy..." That line accompanied by what's happening in panel 4 just accentuates Rocky's sheer dominance & control over Mike.
The clean version is even open to a different scenario at least for me anyway. Rocky is trying on his brand new trainers and what better way to break them in than by having his feeble little buddy strapped to his tempting and clean sole while going on a long workout.
This entire illustration is befitting to quite a few of my tastes. Your inclusion of musk, paw-play, bondage, dominance, viciousness and sneakers makes this one of you most broadly appealing pieces to date. As far as in the musky foot-fetish arena I'd say this artwork is you magnum opus with bonus points added for sneaker bondage. I'm sure that's all I have to say about this.
(I think this is the longest comment I've ever typed on this site. Wow.)
I apologize for my extremely extensive praise/critique but I wanted to do this captivating illustration justice. I'm eager to see what else you have in store in the future.
Much obliged on sharing this unforgettable artwork RRRex.

The longest you've typed... and one of the longest I've read!
Your feedback is very much appreciated, jordan, and I thank you for going to the time and effort to offer it. In response to some of your points:
The angle of Panel 1 is indeed similar to The Dominant Male, though this picture was actually the first to be drawn. I had intended a different angle for The Dominant Male but found I couldn't make it work the way I wanted to, so I went with something more similar to this. There is no texturing in this piece though because I knew that if I textured one surface, I'd have to do them all - and frankly, I couldn't be bothered.
As I mentioned in the description, I struggled with Panel 1. I did use limited photographic reference for the pose but it was difficult to get everything to show in the way I wanted it to. In some ways, I had wanted to put the viewpoint closer to the foot in Panel 1 but found it too tricky to be bothered with, hence part of the reason why I later added Panel 2.
Panel 3 and 5 do seem to have gone down rather well. I'm glad you picked up on all the details in Panel 3 - there is indeed a brown imprint in the shoe which I had feared would be misinterpreted as a lighting effect, hence why I tried to shape it in a way that looked like it could be left by the foot.
You're quite right on the potential alternative scenario for the clean version as well - particularly given that there is no speech on this version either, meaning the story as shown through the pictures takes on a slightly different context.
Many thanks again, and glad you enjoyed the comic.

When I went to your page just now and saw this I was like: HELL YES! X3 Have to say, this might just usurp that amazing POV pic of Rocky's sweaty sole you did a few years ago as my favorite submission of yours. Great work.
You certainly know how to thrill the portion of your watchers with an interest in paws.
You certainly know how to thrill the portion of your watchers with an interest in paws.
And you're most welcome. :3 Your life doesn't seem to afford you a ton of time to draw what you like, but when you do get something polished to the point that you feel ready to submit it here and on your website, the results are definitely amazing. One of the first artists I found through LD5 a few years back when I had just stumbled upon the furry online community, and still one of my absolute favorites. ^w^
Thank you! I don't get an awful lot of time nowadays - certainly not compared with the workrate I had in my early days in the fandom 6 or 7 years ago - but I have been looking to increase my productivity for 2014.
(Cornered. Blimey, that's an old one. Looks a bit fuzzy to me now!)

Phenomenal sense of detail to the texture of Rocky’s pawpads, the inner cushioning of the sneaker (especially on panel 3 <3 ) and the sense of sweat and dirt to both (again especially on panel 3, which looks like it smells wonderful in there!). The idea is awesome and the coloring turned out very nicely too with a great sense of lighting/shading (especially the inner shoe in panel 3 – not trying to be a parrot here, but you did REALLY damn well on that XD).
Absolutely awesome work on this man! :O

What size sneaker do you wear?
That depends on how many little friends are inside
That's why I adore wearing sneakers, clogs or footwear that's best worn barefooted:
so easy to slip off and suck in little friends along the way.
There's gotta be a name or term for intentionally wearing sandals or clogs/Crocs
that are too big for your feet. Other than "leaving room for more stuff inside!"
I'm amazed at recent sneakers having DAY GLOW COLORS INSIDE,
