Um... Not to sound like an ass(seriously, I'm trying to not foot in mouth here) but the quality here doesn't seem worth 12USD... 5 would be pushing it. Your art shows serious potential, but at it's current level I think you might want to consider working on a technique to round out jagged lines, smooth out shading, and don't be afraid of programs like GIMP or Photoshop if you aren't already using them.
Please don't take this the wrong way, I already feel bad for speaking so negatively. I'm just hoping you can find your style 2.0 and take it all in stride. I'm not discouraging you, far from it. I'm just hoping to let you know that as someone who's toiled for a dollar, I can't stress enough the importance of appealing to the buyer who might not want to spend money that may or may not be worth it. As an artist, you have to put your heart and soul into what you do, and as a merchant you have to bring in the customers. You made a good start with the ad banner, but you need substance to back it up. I'm a writer, but I feel my work isn't ready to be sold, so I improve on my technique.
Okay... I'm done making an ass of myself. -Hides in the corner-

Errr... Are you alright? I was hoping you'd just get angry with me and report me or something... you closing up completely seems a bit of an overreaction. I'm sorry if I sounded like a downer, but honestly I think you have what it takes to be a good artist. -Hugs- It just takes practice, and I'm sure you're more than capable. I've seen artists with poor quality make beautiful works of art and in all fairness, you're only just starting out so don't beat yourself up over whatever criticism I have. I'm no artist, what would I know?
Now I feel mega guilty... I'm sorry.

sometimes i feel when people havent saif anything good about something they dont need to give criticizm to something. you have your opinion and i appreciate it but that downed me really bad especially since i just found out you decided to unwatch me and rewatch me....makes me feel a million times better thanks
Arf? I clicked the watch button once... it should've only notified you once that I started watching. -Shrugs- Nonetheless, I still think you're worth the effort.
I still feel bad about saying it in the first place, mainly because I know how bad it is to hear someone tell you how bad you might be... Me? I felt a need to justify why I did what I did... but everyone is different. -Blushes and slumps shyly- I feel more like I criticized myself more... I'm at least glad you took it better than I did.

Don't let one comment stop you from doing the things you want. Just keep practicing, and draw from life. Even if you're drawing in a cartoon style or anime, it always helps to draw from real life sometimes. It makes everything "click" into place.
There's always bumps in the road, and obstacles and opinions, but if you really want it, and you work for it, you will achieve it.
I used to draw really small heads and long torsos on my characters when I started, but when I began to look and study at what a real person's body looks like it helped so much.
So don't give up, and really, if you love to draw genuinely, someone else's comment on this silly site shouldn't change that!
tl;dr: just keep drawing and trying to get better.
Use references if you need to
*hugs!!*

Just to give my two cents - please don't let criticism stop you from doing art! :) We all get criticism, and usually it's given to help us improve. While I personally disagree with what farnorthsaibre said about price (I think you can charge whatever you feel your art is worth), I do agree with some of the suggestions they have about how to improve your work. I'd also like to add that if you have your heart set on going to art school, don't let criticism change that! Especially since you'll be getting a LOT of critiques in art school (and sometimes they can hurt...a lot). Also going to art school isn't a requirement by any means to become a 'true artist'. You can start learning any time, through books, online resources, and practicing as much as you can :3
A good critique will never be a personal attack, although if a piece is personal, it may feel like it. Try not to let someone's criticism of your work feel like a personal blow, but rather learn from it and try to take their advice to heart. I think your work here has potential! If you don't mind my suggestions, I'd say practice every day, and practice drawing from life, too. Even if you're aiming for a non-realistic style, understanding anatomy and how light and shadow work will help you out immensely. If you want any suggestions or have any questions, just let me know :3

Sorry I know this an old topic, but this is relevant to your entire artistic career.
I won't repeat what the others said about not to be hurt by critiques, etc (completely true btw)
But I'll give my own view.
You seemed really upset by the comment, but I think you missed the actual critique.
"Your art shows serious potential, but at it's current level I think you might want to consider working on a technique to round out jagged lines, smooth out shading, and don't be afraid of programs like GIMP or Photoshop if you aren't already using them."
Saying your art wasn't worth an amount was uncalled for and not a critique, but what I showed you was!
Differentiate between blatant insults and critiques.
When I was starting out, people viciously attacked my artwork.
Saying it was horrible and all. Then an amazing artist took a chance on me and gave me the needed critiques and motivation, and I've improved so much now.
If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Not being able to take a critique/accept them will ruin your art career.
They can hurt, but the results pay off. BELIEVE ME. You will improve so much, one day you'll be charging hundreds for beautiful, detailed pieces. Just keep trying! c:

I'm going to say something everyone's thinking. You're a real asshole.
If she wants to price a sketch at 500$ then let her, it's her art- who the hell are you to even have the audacity to say '____ isn't worth it'
You came on here saying "I know I'll sound like an asshole, BUT".
Just LOL seriously.
And you WRITE PORN LOL. SERIOUSLY LOL.
You're a judgmental asshole, get a life instead of picking on people. Even if their art didn't sell right away you should let people fall and pick their selves up so they can learn.
Also this isn't meant to be replied to I don't want to waste anymore time on you.
