That's completely bizarre. I just found out that this movie on young Lincoln premiered at Sundance. It was filmed in a nature preserve where I'm a volunteer and hike leader. It's so weird seeing familiar places filmed in stark black & white.

Haha! It looks like an interesting film. I set a wishlist on my TiVo to hopefully catch it when it runs somewhere (on Sundance?).

The cabin was beautiful. At least it was until it got rained on and the veneer started peeling. It was just a frame structure made to look like a log cabin. They'd have had to cut a lot of trees to make a real log cabin. It did have real cedar shakes for a roof. They had a fortune in antique tools on the set too. I think they were borrowed from the barn museum.
