I really like the way these two turned out. It's fun, bringing new figures to life. The first one to get sketched was the cheetah on the left. That's Oddipard, an established character. The figure on the left I dubbed Oddilynx, and I think he's very cute. You can definately see the difference in climate origins on the two - the lynx is marked for hiding among rocks and forest, and is stocky/heavy furred because of cold climates. The cheetah is long-limbed and built for long strides - a savannah hunter. Oddipard is commissioning me for a fursuit illustration/designsheet, and this is a concept/working sketch. He was considering what a lynx might look like, so I illustrated the two possibly meeting. I believe I am going to do more of these, though more likely just figures from different perspectives. :9

More added 17/05/08 -- Oddi asked for some more specifics with seeing how Oddipard's markings would look from behind, and he was curious about Oddilynx's face. I really still rather like Oddilynx's face. ^^;

I think likely for the color commission Oddi will choose to go with the leopard though. :) He's the better-established of the two characters. :) He's a fun one too, so no issues there!
