I'm not Chinese in any way, being more of a mixed Native American/White man born and living in the U.S. . But I thought it would be nice to draw a little something related to the Chinese New Year.
Here, I drew a mare, or a female horse due to 2014 being the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Horse. Her dress is red due to red being a good traditional color in Chinese culture for many years, like good fortune or luck. The Chinese script at the left is real, and I hope that I did a good job at what I wrote, considering I do not know a whole lot about Chinese and I had to write down these words with some quick research on the language. The writing should say: "(The) horse is beautiful" in the Chinese language.

Thanks. I put in a whole lot of work in making everything look perfect. It got very insane sometimes, such as there were times I misspelled a couple of pictographs amnd had to correct them with white paint. I was careful with painting the mare's hair black with blue highlights (which goes well with the red dress and the white hide coat on the horse.) But i am very proud of it.
