I just want to sell these and get them out of the way!
Cleers (clear + seer) are aura readers. They can see the auras of others. The gems they are born with match the colours of their soulmate's aura (same or different species). The blinds are called Aura Blinds, and although you would think it would hinder their sight it does not. The blinds are made with magic and only block out auras from their vision as looking at auras too much gives them migraines/headaches.
