But Gmod models are based on a species that has fingers, so it's natural to discount the technical limitations of the source engine.
It's just really bizarre and more noticeable when the theme of the picture is "ponies toting guns".
I'm more surprised by how chill you are in regards to something a lot of artists would be spinning their head over. How cartoon horses would hold weapons made for human hands, instead of custom pony guns. (I myself have never discounted pony Buster Arm Cannon)

Well... this is just the way it looks.
And I really don't care HOW they are able to pull the trigger. I'm not limited to any engine or inspiration, either... I just emulate the feeling of my buddies' artworks, which show the same "flaw".
And frankly... it's a matter of fun and not logic.

I really don't spin my head in this case... though I'm highly sensitive, when it comes to logic.
But not in this case.
Just accept it.

Sure, I really understand and appreciate your argument. In fact, I would be the FIRST ONE to raise his hand and say "Eeeeh, how is this possible? I shall draw it correctly!!"

I suppose that would be easier than replacing the hoof altogether like I was thinking. xD
It would have to connect to the nerve endings somehow though in order to accurately convey the movement signals. Maybe an implant on the base of the spike that intercepts the signals that the brain would create and sends them to the gloves. It would be awkward at first since the ponies would have never had fingers, but after some practice they'd get it! :D
