THE COLORS. THE COLORS!! The colors are what draw me to this one immediately, especially the smooth, liquid-like quality to them. You colored this one so brilliantly and I simply ADORE the palette, it's just, ugh, so eye-catching! I love the bright, candy colors, and you know how in love I am with red and blue and the stunning contrast they create. The shades you chose are especially delicious!! And Zuko's browns don't diminish the vibrancy, it just adds to the tasty color smorgasbord! You chose the perfect shade that meshes with all the other stunning tones while still reading as Zuko's trademark brown hair.
The composition on this one is so intriguing and daring, you really tried a lot of new things here and all of them worked phenomenally. I love the symmetry and how beautifully they compliment each other! Both visually and in personality. I think that conveying it visually helps to emphasize the nature of their relationship and the emotion shared between them in a sense. And just, wow, what a creative interpretation of the sleep prompt!
I love how you duplicated them and flipped them upside down to both complete the composition of the piece but also introduce an alternate version of the coloring with different tones and effects. It was such a clever thing to do and creates such an aesthetically pleasing arrangement!
Their faces are GORGEOUS, I just love how you do profiles and you've been doing so many as of late and I just enjoy it so much because you make such appealing brows and lips and noses (I love that they each have a unique nose shape). And gosh their lidded eyes are beautiful and they both look so serene and sublime, and I love the dream matter that's pouring from their lips and enveloping them. I also really dig the glaring highlights on Flame Prince's body to convey the intensity of his body heat and how pale yellow his skin becomes in the duplicated version (and the misty tone over that whole portion that makes their colors more velvety and a touch pastel). It's just so silky smooth and pleasant to look at, ahh!!
The anatomy here is so expertly done, I just love their chests and nipples ( you draw such cute nipples) and their interwoven arms look wonderful, that's such a difficult pose to execute but you've done it flawlessly here and I love how it serves to symbolize their union as they slumber. There's so many decadent brush strokes littered throughout this as well, diluting the colors and creating flow and adding a bit of flavor and texture to everything. STUNNING!!
Your handwriting is gorgeous, too, and the inclusion of some font adds a bit of pizzazz to the piece and I feel it enhances the composition over all. This is WONDERFUL I LOVE IT!!
