Pozoy and Kessler, Pandur and Ost-Sturm, Drake and Canian!
Caliphate night raiders were in the Canian trenches, the fools had sounded the alarm but done nothing but stand by to repulse rather than directly engaging! Now the raiders were already pouring into the forward trenches, but not before showering the Jagdwehr troops with volleys of nail bombs and fragmentation grenades.
Colonel Pozoy, a high born drake from the Draconis Hegemony, whom had been sent along with his regiment to 'aid' the Hegemony's new Canian allies, watched in utter disbelief from the encampment further up the escarpment overlooking the Canian trenches. While it was true the Kaiser-Reich's Jagdwehr was a formidable fighting force, their tactics like their methods were downright archaic in this era. Once again Canian stubbornness was without fail, even if to their own detriment.
Cursing loudly, he went to rousing his Pandurs, the name of his heavy infantry regiment, with bellows and shouts that were soon taken up by his officer's and NCOs. Within minutes the regiment, tired and weary from the long series of train rides that had brought them to this ass end of all creation, had formed up and gathering his officer's, he quickly laid out what some might even call a plan.
Drawing his heavy .75 caliber revolver, more a hand-cannon than a service pistol, he made a chopping motion with his free hand and gave the order to advance. The plan, again not exactly what he would call it, was simple: aid the Canians in repelling the enemy force. As his regiment spread out and began to pour into the trenches, Pozoy got a first hand look at how bad the Canians had been caught off foot.
He didn't have too much time to do that though as a Caliphate raider, mesh cowl covering part of his face from view although he could tell it was human, came at him. With Pozoy just over seven feet tall, and possessing the incredible physical traits all draconi did, the sub-machine pistol the trooper was pulling up to fire at him was still a source of concern. Pozoy's revolver boomed loudly in the confines of the trench and the raider went down hard as the high caliber round blew out his chest.
There was a motion off to his left and he whirled about to make yet another of the enemy regret coming at him only to find a Canian officer, a Major by his shoulder markings and collar tab, having run up beside him with his own heavy caliber pistol drawn. The Canian looked him over with an odd glance, Pozoy probably the first drake he'd ever seen, before speaking.
"Hegemony? We weren't expecting reinforcement from you bunch down here I'll say, and while it is welcome it wasn't necessary...", he said in a tone that seemed to imply the opposite. Pozoy grunted with a slight hint of annoyance on his face in reply. After all, it wasn't like he really wanted to be out here nor was he in a particularly positive disposition at the moment either.
"You are welcome, Major, and I should inform you that you are speaking to a Colonel after all." Pozoy's reply had come out as a rather dry form of rebuttal to what was still a junior officer. He was about to ask of the situation in the trench when shouts, the language one of those spoken in Anu'Fel, brought both his and the canian Major's attention back to the fighting raging about them.
Almost in unison the two officers spun to face their attackers, literally going back to back in the process.
"Pozoy, Colonel Pozoy, and you have my Pandur's to thank for your rescue Major!" the drake hollered over the din as his heavy gun roared into life once more, the recoil immense even for his size.
"Major Kessler, and the night is still young Colonel, we'll see who is thanking who by the end of it!" the Canian officer retorted with a surprising amount of good humor in his voice, which the Colonel could only help but chuckle at.
It seems, Colonel Pozoy thought as he and this Major Kessler fought back to back, Canian stubbornness isn't all so bad after all.

Thanks! :3 These were somewhat what I was talking about (although this is abit further down the line in the setting so consider it something of a spoiler-teaser) in how the canon was gonna be presented. Still more to go and so on, but for now here's something nice and juicy for anyone to look at, also gotta give props to the artist here too he did a pretty good job drawing me and that big ol' "lizard" XD.
Serious props on the way he drew up my pistol too. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12148368/
