The thumbnail looked like the weapon was integral to the arm of the suit.
This brought about a thought:
When they start putting mind linked weapons in and on suits, they will need to have a watchdog program to keep the weapons from going off if the operator is killed. reflex shots and dieing thoughts could be very bad for your buddies.
What do you think?
Well done on the picture. I love stuff that makes me think.

Intelligence later acertained from a systems readout salvaged from the live beamins that the deathmarker was an unarmored youth who had probably retrieved the powerful scoping weapon from a fallen special optionist. He avoided immediate detection and negation by other members of the point mission squad, but it is assumed he died when a viral detonation purged the entire area of vulnerable life forms; half the point mission squad died from breeches he had sketched into their armor. "Tactical Analysis now believes the enemy is training its younger civilian populations becoming into the shifting tactical zones...Our High Command is reevaluating its no-kills policy on younger opposition with weapons capable of offensive disruption. Assumption is no longer a risk afforded. Kill all armed youths on sight as able and tactically possible. Disobediance of this order it punishable by court-martial and inprisonment, possibly field exocution by special active commanders."

I haven't researched your races. I try not to, or else I'll "borrow" stuff...
I wasn't sure if you would be offended if I put a story of my own to your work here. But cool is cool and I couldn't resist. If you had reacted negatively, I would have bugged off...
"Interesting"? That means many things. Backstory and random plot snippets is what I do best...I'm building my share of the CUP on snippets...I drew a parallel from "One Shot" to the CUP and went with how I would craft the scenario at random.
I guess the Orians make a perfect antagonist, then. Myself, I can't stand "bad" guys, so my antagonists tend to have a softer side toward those they persecute, even if it is repressed.
