I won't say exactly what it was commissioned for since it's a tad personal. I'll leave that for him to tell if he chooses to.
I don't often get commissions, but... this....
This was so exciting and satisfying to work on... well, listen and see what you think.
The strings you hear are a group of 4 students from my university. They worked with me, took direction like pros and made the session a great experience.
I really hope you like this.
Lyrics:
We all held candles the other day
Let go of 50 balloons
your mother said things that she wanted to say
some people got choked up and everyone tried hard to
age slowly, try again tomorrow and
not let this happen again
Though we can't understand it
lest we ever forget,
I will stand here, as a lighthouse
carry on
I wish I could see you another time
I wish I could turn things around
I wish that my sorrow could lead me to find
another few hours, another few ways to try to
age slowly, try again tomorrow and
not let this happen again
Chorus
And we don’t have to wonder
we know we all miss you the most
we know we all miss you the most
we know we all miss you the most
I put on your sweatshirt the other day
Because I was thinking of you
tried to remember what my preacher told me
about tryin’ to make every precious moment last and to
age slowly, try again tomorrow and
not let this happen again
Chorus
Piano, vocals, arrangement: Me

Im so glad you pulled this off so well. It means a lot to have an artist do something like this and have their own heart and soul in it. I wish I could do the same right now. I've been in a rut for quite a while now. No inspiration is coming to me no matter how long I stare at the notes.
nawww that's Matt Ebel's thing
I have a new album coming out in September.
There will be pre-orders, but I fund all of my crap myself.
I'm partially convinced my Kickstarter would never work... and If I do one and it DOESN'T get funded... It'll be a huuuuuge blow to my ego.
I'm too scared of failure to try it X3
If you want to help me out financially, just buy an album or two.
I have links all over my page.
