So  SlashySmiley, who's work I've liked for some time now, posted the inks for this picture to TA and I felt it deserved a colourin'.

I wanted to have a go at colouring the lantern light source. If I was more pro I would have done a better job, but I'm not dissatisfied with how it came out. It was a lot of fun to work with.

For the background I was somewhat inspired by Rayman Origins, those really dark underwater levels where you navigate by luminous fish.
The rainbowy light source was something I was thinking about at work how I'd pull it off. Had the idea of using the fuzzball brush, clicking in the same spot with the colours of the rainbow over and over, erasing the middle and then maybe radient blurring it. Think the effect came out pretty well.
