This character was inspired by a dream I had when camping around a decade ago. He was a creaky old robotic hedgehog called "Old Ironspines."

Eventually, I made him into Captain Ironspine, a robotic hedgehog pirate captain. He's been around a while and is a bit worn, but he's not ancient. He's not particularly bloodthirsty or reckless, but he is experienced, courageous, and persistent. It's not good to be on his bad side.

Here, he has been damaged in battle and temporarily repaired with duct tape. It's not elegant, but it works.
And yes, I was looking at a Captain Morgan rum ad when I designed his coat.
