Sometime after this book was completed, I read an article that talked about the use of father characters in children's books. It said (if I remember correctly) that father characters are often not shown, and when they are, they're often not depicted in loving, nurturing roles. I then realized that in my book, the platypus father is never shown, and the only time the kangaroo father appears, he's yelling at his kid and dragging him around.

Oops.
