Shaking, shivering, violent decline.
I can’t imagine why.
I write this as a token of life.
A life I’m not sure that’ll last.
Please pull through so you can see who I am.
Dragged through the mud, bound and gagged.
My mind says move on but I can’t.
It tells me “this is who you are.”
Is this what I really am?
Broken, falling, fatal decline…
I really hope you’ll be fine.
I’d love to see my mothers’ eyes shine.
Give me the dust of all your sorrow.
Tis all I can do to comfort you tomorrow.
This is what I thought, I don’t know why.
Who am I, why why why?
I’ve lost sight and gained it anew.
I’ve changed as a man, brand new.
I worry about your doubt. (disappointment)
Lost sight of what made me who I am. (who made me)
I want to move on, grow up…
I had this dream last night.
Sitting in the dark, I hear the slosh of mud,
Bound and gagged, pleading for life…
You were sobbing tears of sorrow and strife.
You’ve lost your boy in a sense.
He’s changed in many a way… (a way)
Broken down and sorry (for all the shit he’s done.)
Seeing those eyes (those eyes) has broken him down…
Broken, falling, fatal decline…
I really hope you’ll be fine.
I’d love to see my mothers’ eyes shine.
Give me the dust of all your sorrow.
Tis all I can do to comfort you tomorrow.
His love for you never wanes.
But he’s got to grow up and let things go.
Let things go…
I can’t imagine why.
