Let's be honest. There is no way for a YouTube comments section to take a debate like that and not turn it into a flame war.

What I find most offensive is this idea that evolution and creation must be two separate and mutually exclusive concepts. I see nothing in the Bible that suggests such. THe bat-shit insane Old Testament makes a lot more sense if you take it metaphorically.

There's a difference between opening dialogue and opening a controversial topic to the internet at large.

Can you blame him? If I posted something that caused normally docile rational people to go f'ing bonkers, I'd lock the comments too.

Go find and read karno's strip Jesus says there's no dogs.. and use that as an argument.. believe me when I tell you this it is so masterfully written there's no defense against it.

I'm hardly surprised. They claim all they want is the freedom and opportunity to teach their side, but you talk to one long enough, all creationists want is THEIR views, THEIR beliefs, and THEIR philosophy to be the only one that counts.

The part that amused me greatly though was during the Q&A as well as a bit during the rebuttal and counter-rebuttal was that Mr. Ham often beat around the burning bush and didn't directly answer questions when it came to providing proof or facts that AREN'T summed up by simply saying "I read it in the Bible".

I saw the outcome of this one long in advance.
