Snow Leopard Study (More Uploads on Weasyl)
https://www.weasyl.com/submission/4.....-leopard-study
Just decided to share a little warm up painting I did before working on commissions. I used my new Kyle T Webster watercolor brush--and it's super fun and awesome to use!
Studying snow leopards a bit. I had a few ideas whirring around in my brain for a painting featuring a snow leopard character (I’ll get to it, eventually!).
Also: I am not officially leaving FA or anything, but I will note that since it is easier to organize my work on Weasyl I will have a tendency to post more art there. Particularly rough work, WIP'S and sketches including character development of Pyra.
Thank you for following my work! I sincerely appreciate it!

That's what everyone thinks.
It's back-breaking, extremely low-paid, and often utterly thankless work. In addition to that, especially in the summer, I was lucky if I got to spend even five minutes a day of 'quality time' with the animals I cared for.
Likewise, you find out the hard way that many folks are 'animal people', because they tend to treat other humans like absolute trash. In addition to that, there was always the added fun of being the 'first line' objects of attack for Animal Rights folks, who would visit the zoological park on a daily basis, and make damn sure that they ask the keepers sneering questions such as: "How does it feel to be a Nazi concentration camp guard? Wild animals should be wild! Keeping a tiger in a cage is ABUSE!" Blah blah blah... ad infinitum
I used to bitterly joke to others that my real job was working as a social worker and day-care attendant, who also had to care for animals on the side. :P
Nevertheless, I did it for eight years, because there were also some small moments that made it worth it.
