The Shovel Knight!!!!!!
I recently heard about this game through Nintendo's website, If I remember correctly, it was a collaboration of various 3DS and Wii U games soon to be released in 2013 - 2014 and one of the games was Shovel Knight.
I rather like the look of the game, Very 8-bit style, not to mention your weapon is a shovel. Also has various other knights like Plague Knight, Mole Night and others as well.
