I saw it once several years ago - to be honest it was just okay, I didn't really get all the hype for it. I think its one of those movies that has a big cult following that if you're into it, its the best thing ever, but if you're not, you just won't ever get it. I think Rocky Horror is like that too. But I love Rocky Horror, and even I know its an awful movie. lol
People love 'Rocky Horror' because its awful. Also Tim Curry, because *swoon*. 'Princess Bride' is that same sort of thing I believe. I like it because it is rather sweet but so much of it is over the top corny but spiced with silly. Like when the Princess rolls down the hill after him, that just takes a sweet romantic moment and throws a pie in its face. Also seeing Andre the Giant acting gives me a smile. "I'm on the brute squad" "You are the brute squad." . Its just a lot of goofy fun. Almost like why all the 'Evil Dead' and 'Army of Darkness' movies are so fun.
What didn't you like about the movie, I don't want to argue I'm just interested. I like to know why and what people don't like about things so I can better understand different things as an art form.

I wouldn't really say there was anything I didn't like, it was an okay movie, I'm just not one of the ones who goes all nuts about it when I see memorabilia and whatnot. Honestly I hardly remember the movie though, it really was a long time ago that I saw it. I feel the same way about the Dark Crystal, and that's another one everyone loves. I like it, but I find it hard to sit through the whole thing for some reason. But I can watch Labyrinth over and over.
Something to mention too though is that I'm kinda picky when it comes to movies - there's a few on my "love it" list and many on my "I'll watch it if its there but I won't seek it out" list. And hundreds upon hundreds I've never even seen.
Surprisingly, for all the years I spent doing the RHPS stuff, I didn't see Repo: The Genetic Opera until after I moved out here to OK. And I adore that movie, its one of my faves.

I'm a big musical guy so when Repo came out in theaters I went to see it. I love it and watch it every now and then. I should get the soundtrack so I can sing to it more often at work. I'm a big song and dance kind of guy, its just something I can lose myself in.
It is good to be picky about your movies so I'm happy to hear that. I know I've seen Dark Crystal but its been years and I don't remember how much I enjoyed it. I know I loved Labyrinth both for its story and again Mister Tim Curry, just like 'Clue: The Movie'. I haven't watch Labyrinth in ages either though. However I would have to say I have not looked for nor gotten any memorabilia for any of those movies. I'm happy with just the movies themselves and the soundtrack of musicals.
I still need to go to a live showing of RHPS, sadly I've not managed that yet.
