Thanks! But aw, yeah. The body type is at the request of the commissioner/has to do with the species in his books. All by the bear species, the ruling class that took over the continent by force, are generally quite thin. This critter is a "lanorei", one of the canid-type creatures in his works, an urchin and part of the slave class.
Ahkay, I figured anatomy was probably the case after I submitted the comment, but the comment about their low caste status is where I was going with the comment. In any case, it makes for an interesting concept and sounds like a cool read, and you really do a good job with these illustrations!
