A Fierce Mental Challenge
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
It was nighttime, and it must have been the loneliest part of the loneliest expanse of woodlands. The moon shone quite brightly, but wasn't quite full. A gentle breeze started to blow, rustling some overhead leaves in the trees.
After wandering aimlessly for a while, Aerius decided to take a seat on a nearby tree stump. At this point, dark clouds blocked out sight of the moon, darkening all below. Rain began to fall, quickly soaking the wolf, winds starting to pick up more and more until it eventually held steady at around 30 mph.
“Oww...” he whimpered as he placed his right paw on his forehead, having suddenly felt sharp pain. And then, his horrible inner demon began speaking to his head from deep within the black wolf, the demon with it's always harsh, alarming voice.
“PATHETIC, HEARTLESS FOOL!” the demon screeched loudly within the mind of Aerius.
“...Your words mean nothing to me, why won't you just stay deep, far away from my head...” the wolf responded, burying his muzzle into his arms crossed in front of him.
“AND A MINDLESS LIAR, MANY WORDS CRIPPLE YOU AS IF THEY WERE BULLETS!!”
Aerius growled deeply, “Grrrragh, what do you know? You can't be that strong if I am able to stay in control with you inside of me, you're nothing but a pest.” he insulted, talking back to the fierce inner demon.
“HEH!? YOU WILL REGRET MOCKING ME!! YOU, WHO ALWAYS HARM THOSE 'DEAREST' TO YOU. BLEH, A REPULSIVE, MISERABLE, HOPELESS, GOOD-FOR-NOTHING WRETCH YOU ARE!”
The wolf remained silent for the moment, silently wallowing in despair upon reflection, on the brink of tears, shivering.
“YOU WILL CONTINUE TO SUFFER FOR MANY YEARS, THEN DIE ALONE!! AN UNDESIRABLE FAILURE UNWORTHY OF BEING EVEN SPOKEN TO!!”
Finally, Aerius Sygale snapped. “Then SHUT! THE HELL! UUUUUUUUUUP!!” he shouted at the top of his lungs, placing his paws on each side of his head between his eyes and his ears.
At this point, he went through tremendous mental strain trying to force back the demon to become no longer able to get in his head like this, to no longer be heard for the next fairly long while.
But as this went on for nearly a full minute, by the time this was achieved, the demonic entity's resistance caused some blood to trickle out the corners of his eyes, his nose, and caused terrible fatigue all over, collapsing onto the ground, panting heavily, clutching at his heart.
“D-Damn it... B..Bast..ard...” the wolf struggled, and after just stopping trying to push himself up with any of his limbs any longer, he falls back down flat on his stomach with a pained wince and whimper. The strong winds weakened, but rain continued to fall.
Unable to rise for some time, feeling very weak, he does all there is left he can do, and cries sorrowfully, thinking of all the pain he has ever caused to those dear to him, the ground beneath his muzzle becoming soaked with a mix of blood from his fierce mental challenge from his inner demon, and his even fresher tears.
Feeling completely and utterly defeated, his crying, heard by no one but his cold, slightly bloodied self, continued on for a half hour until he finally passed out.
After a long, sound sleep, the wolf weakly arose and pressed on, merely surviving, cold and lonely.

Thank goodness, my brain is still alive! XP Man...I think it has been -years- since the last time I finished something I started writing in the way of a story, pretty big relief to pull -anything- off at this point, and I chose to go with my writing strong point; harsh emotion. ^^;
It has seemed like forever since I submitted writing, so, I hope you guys find it worth the wait, even if it is just a "short story", heh. Thanks for reading, comments and faves greatly appreciated as always, and I hope you have a great day~ God bless!

Ah, thank you for reading, Razor! :3 I've been good overall, a bit of drama recently, but all is well now, thanks for asking~ How have you been? I do hope you enjoyed the short story.
I am indeed getting -fully- into writing, I am making it my current project now to finally work on background/history for my fursona; Aerius Sygale.
The first backstory will be titled "Aerius Sygale Backstory: The Demon Makes it's Mark!", I hope you and others will look forward to it~ *hugs*
