Not to boast, but I actually caught a shiny ponyta in a safari not too long ago. It appeared, and I just started chucking pokeballs like crazy, hoping it wouldn't Take Down itself to death. X3 It didn't, thankfully! Try tipping one of the NPCs and then going hunting in a safari, you never know!
