"Roly-Polympics 2014: Winter Games: Men's Snowboard #1"
Now that the 2014 Winter Olympics Games in Sochi, Russia are underway, so, too is my own tribute to these events on ice and snow, with all-new "Poly-Polympics" cartoons (interspersed between some of my classic gags from the 2006 edition, from my gallery in "The Round House").
One of the newest events in the RL Winter Olympics is "Men's Snowboarding Slopestyle", where competitors are judged on their abilities to perform freestyle feats, as they go downhill on their snowboard, slide on special rails on the upper portion of the course, and then proceed to three giant jumps further down the mountain.
In this brand-new cartoon, the action takes place in the 'rails' section, where the obstacles are decorated like forms of food - in this case, like a slice of watermelon and a candy cane. A fat wolf slides across the larger rail with ease, while a fat horse has a tough time distinguishing between fantasy and reality - when he comes across the candy cane. (Those of you who had seen the movie "A Christmas Story", can easily identify with the plight of this over-eager equine!)
I'll try to post more new "Roly-Polympics" images during the two-week period of its RL counterpart. So, please be patient... Thank you, and enjoy the games!
