I usually do add it but I got lazy this time, That being said its often easier to do it in post production than during render since it is a huge resource hog.

Im using a Geforce 740 which is alright, but I still prefere the hands on approach to FOD for stills.

oh and also. yes you can set a physics based collision system for things like hair, tails and other extremeties to bump into solid objects and not clip through. But complex, things like bodily anatomy have to be cleared manually. which means alot of fiddling with the sculpt tool.
