Well, no. We mammals do come from eggs but, our species being forced to go on the move and forage or hunt such long distances, our eggs mature and form inside of the body. So essentially our parents are our "shell" still, being a creature that comes from a fully isolated egg must be incredibly odd to envision such a thing
