A couple of days ago, I was watching a documentary about endangered species...
among these are the wolves.
There are an estimated 7,000 to 11,200 wolves in Alaska and more than 5,000 in the lower 48 states. Around the world there are an estimated 200,000 in 57 countries, compared to up to 2 million in earlier times.
Each day mankind takes away their homes, their forests and their food!
Expanding and constructing buildings and destroying everything in its path!
Maybe we can say .. "they are just animals and I don't care!",and perhaps is like what happens to our neighbor that extending their hand crying out for help! But we don't even wish to look at them!
This planet we live is beautiful, perhaps there is much pain, diseases, wars ... yet there are things that fill the heart with hope!
Save the planet ... but let's save our animals too ...
Pic collaboration between my brother and sister and me...

Well yes and no. Yes in that we have put a lot of pressure on them but they have been adapting quite more then we think. Here were I live in Canada we find more and more wolf that are interbred with coyote giving a smarter better wolf that is not afraid of man. One that is able to live among human and shrewd enough not to be caught or very hard to caught. Not only that but by doing that they acquire the coyote defense against environment pressure in that when there number plummet they reproduce like crazy. In prince Edward island they have try to eliminated them as that island was free of them for many years. The result after spending a lot of $$$ is more of them. So yea in a sense it's the wolf way to give us the finger. LOL
Hopefully some day us as people learn to take care of nature and learn fromt our mistakes.. Hopefully.. But like Drakar said... They adapting better than we think...
On the rare occasion I can hear the odd wolf howl amongst the coyotes... And I been hearing it more over the last few years so thats a good sign in my eyes..
And beautiful pic too.. *hugs*

Aawwww really nice ''feral'' drawing Freddy and so true what you've said in your description ... If us humans as the dominant specie aren't careful we might be the last and the only one on this planet and to tell the truth I seriously doubt that one day we learn ... they're still hope but we better learn how to protect ALL of the living creatures. They have a purpose on this planet and they keep the ''balance'' in nature ...
Glad to see a drawing from you *hug*

some humans are really bad people!
Talking wolves, I fear the bear population isn't doing any better. Or doing a lot worse! From reading and watching documentaries about wolves, even from my own experiences with just dogs! The "human" value of thier farming livestock animals, is worth more than the lives of several wolves! Even if a pet dog eats one of his owner's chickens.... Well..... Drastic measures are taken to train the dog from killing and eating another chicken, before it's life is ultimately taken!
Then wolves or any other wild carnivorous creature, suffer a much crueler fate. A farmer finds one of his cows had been killed, that usually calls for an eradication of any one or multiple lives of any known carnivorous creature in that area of where that cow was killed!
And don't forget! To some humans, no animals life's could be worth more than a human's!
This is sad sad sad!
human Over population of the earth is happening at an alarming rate! It was once balanced out through natural disasters, diseases, and such! But humans are ever so adapting to these situations! But they can't conquer death itself!
Where I live in dallas tx,i may have some pictures of what some uninhabited places were like, before the next thing you know it! There is now an exclusive gated community and a strip shopping mall! Sad sad sad! Turn on the news and see residents of these newly developed communities, whine and complain about seeing bobcats eating their pets or just walking through "their" neighborhood! The animals were there long before hand! Now they have to go!
Some humans are crazy and flat out rude! I often get fussed at for feeding the pidgeons downtown! I sometimes have to restrain from chewing that person out! If I read from the bible right,it seems that he created animals before he made humans!
I'm sure someone would maybe read this and tell me if I'm right or wrong!
Oh yes! I almost forgot! I have also seen abandoned building structures about the city! Some get down and the space get redeveloped for a new living arrangements or shopping. That's wonderful! Recycle!
Why tear up and develop some wildlife's habitat , when there is plenty of run down and abandoned properties within the city? I'm pretty sure that answer is very "political", unethical, and discriminative! Ouch!
But there you go!
I feel sorry for all the animals! Other than the ones we call "pets" or gotten ate up by the ones we tried to make pets!
Will our wild and furry neighbors adapt or die out!
Oh! OhI said too much!

Its the sad sad sad Truth!
Humans can't make up their minds!
But their dangerous greed for money and dominance, will be the ultimate destruction!
And making computers smarter than themselves? Why?!
The terminator, the matrix, space odessy 2000, and a few other movies that come to mind, that show what happens when computers take over!
I just hope I'm long gone and dead, if computers ever do become so intelligent and want to take over!

least i can say im not one of them kinda farmers that see feet to eradicate them... yes we had problems with live stalk being taken down... but i can find other ways of keeping them from hurting my animals, without killing them.. only as a very last resort would i ever consider it... but sadly others just wanna go the easy y and kill them all....
I personally would be lost if i didnt see all natures creatures around....
at least here in Canada most of our country is prime wildlife habitat will little humans around..
i personally love living amongst wildlife and with it, i dont understand why people are the way they are..

Good Jason! You spoke for all the good farmers out there!
I saw those documentaries were produced in the 80' s and the 90' s! I may have seen some newer ones.........
Those videos and articles I've read, were old! So they may not reflect the newer generation of farmers. Growing up in the 70' s and 80' s,my generation and the ones before mines. Were fed an abundant supply of "inaccurate" information! ! But what I witnessed from city life.. Is very relevant and the disgusting truth!
I saw bears and other wild critters(beside the zoo!)
I saw the bears at the zoo! I rather see them in the in the wild. I've seen snakes, rabbits, jackrabbits, horny toads, deer, roadrunners raccoons, possums, skunks, guud looking vultures, prairie dogs, hawks, and so on.... I hate to say there should be a birth limit on the number of offspring per human couple should have, but there should be! humans try to control populations of other animals! So animals shouldn't be killed because they took down a human! Humans already know some animals are vicious. If they get killed.... Opps! You wanna shoot a wolf? Bring your camera and mace!
