I have a clever method for that:
Step 1. Sample the colors of two objects as they appear through the lens, and as they appear unaltered. Usually I use the whites and pupils of the eyes.
Step 2. Apply a series of mathematical formulas to the RGB values of those four colors. (I call them the C-Omega formulas! Cool, eh?) They give me the RGB value and opacity of the lens.
