I dig the underlying, feminist themes of the show. Its quite a nice change up.
I could see it being a show that helps young girls see the bright side in young guys that aren't quite as macho as others. Which may be helpful in bridging the gender gap that is all too prevalent in youth.

One thing I noticed about Steven Universe that is kind of neat, its just how much they focus on Steven when they could have focused on The Gems who have powers and go on adventures to save the world and could be an interesting action show or some thing. Its like if Dragon Ball Z focused on Bulma or some thing.
So far my fave episode is the Tiger Millionaire episode, I think that one has the most interesting art style and It was cool seeing Garnet and Amethyst fight because you get a taste of just how powerful they really are.

Again, the show's a nice change of pace. I'm sure at some point they may get into more super-heroey type stories, but for now their getting Steven's skills tested.
I just watched Tiger Millionaire XD I love the way Garne- er... "Captain Square" ended up fixing the fight by falling down. And the reaction Millionaire gets from his "fans" at the end of the episode X)
