He's adorable... and also looks almost exactly like my OC lol x.x Well, two great minds think alike I suppose?

I love the detail in the character, and that background is spectacular.

So I've been looking at this character a bit and I must say that I do like him, I see the love put into the design, and he's a fairly unique concept... but... there's just one thing that sits strangely with me.

I just... they look so similar... so... uncanny... it's like they could almost be twins... or at the very least cousins.

Am I crazy or does anyone else agree?


Now, I want to say I'm not trying to make a stink or start anything... no drama nor conflict intended here... I just... have to say it.

Mostly just replying because I've encountered similar situations XD They do look a lot alike, but then again I think MLP has been out long enough with such a large fanbase that it's hard to come up with a unique or even mildly original OC...My first that I created, Shinebright, is a white pegasus with brown mane(I wasn't very original, I designed her after me XD) with a paintbrush painting a rainbow surrounded by sparkles as a cutiemark. I soon came to realize that I didn't have to search long or hard to find INCREDIBLY similar OC characters...Some almost uncanny, though the design was pretty simple. Even my best friend has an almost identical UNICORN character.

However, my second character I made, Dream Catcher is the one that seems to cause fuss. An ultramarine blue pegasus, white mane with a purple stripe through it...Dream catcher cutiemark that is greenish like her eyes with three blue jay feathers on it. I've never actually seen another pony character with the same colors, however I've had people get upset and a bit distraught over her cutiemark being a dream catcher. Apparently that's a fairly popular cutiemark and can have MANY different meanings, so it gets picked rather often.

I dunno...I mean, I wouldn't say there's NO chance that anybody blatantly ripped off the design, but I think it's likely that somebody just accidentally created a similar character and may not have known yours existed when they did XD

I credit it solely to coincidence I will say. I am friends with a tumblr artist that is the same case... nearly identical... totally by accident. It happens lol
