::NOTE: It doesn't matter if the franchises above are good or bad, all that matters is it shows how the games and other Sonic franchises are trying to update and unshackle some of the outdated material they burdened themselves with...right as Archie decided to shackle themselves up...

Quite a few people have been asking me about Sonic Boom or other Sonic related things while sending me links to images and videos, so I figured I'd just make a comic to address some of it XD And before people ask, I still haven't touched the comic since 252.

Also, I'm sure some people will look at this and try to make Penders the scapegoat, but he's responsible for his own characters getting killed off and for the new universe, not so much those redesigns that happened to the Freedom Fighters, which apparently were Archie's idea.

As far as Sonic Boom goes though, apparently it takes place in a brand new universe separate from the one created in Japan, so even if Knuckles looks like he's on steroids here, he is still going to look like his original self in the SEGA games (which is a lot more then can be said about the comic originals in the comic...). That being said though, having the strong guy look buff isn't that bad of an idea, and from the sound of it, Amy is going to be more competent and a better fighter, so sounds like they're on the right track.

This whole thing just continues to blow my mind though, to the fact that Archie spend over two years in a convoluted, poorly written mess of a story that mutilated and destroyed the comic originals, both physically and mentally (and in cases like Bunnie, ruining the character entirely), to make them look like they walked out of a SEGA game, just for it now to be known that Sega of America is making their own brand new universe and are putting their own twist and fresh designs onto the game characters.

Mind you, this isn't their own original characters they're messing with, these are the actual game characters, which means mutilating the comic originals seems all the more insulting and pointless now that it's shown SEGA is willing to branch out and try new things. It actually makes me wonder if the Sonic Boom universe is going to create their own original characters or if they're just going to slowly reintroduce the other game characters as the years go on.

Of course add to that the fact the games officially have a female character that doesn't wear clothes, and everything combined just gets me all the more pissed off at Archie for what they've done to the comic...
