This was my first fully colored picture of Keith's baby sister "Janet"...who was inspired by the music artist Janet Jackson...no seriously.

This drawing is circa 1998, before then she was drawn in either ink or pencil- and hardly ever colored...

I made a little comic book way back when, featuring Keith and his family (two sisters and a mother) on a ski trip. The family was created on the spot, as originally I had no intentions to ever give Keith a family of any sort. It was a cute little tale, ending with a rather pissed off Keith, who lacks the talent of skiing.

Only other colored pic of those years, was when I drawn her in a zoot suit (ala Janet Jackson's Alright video), circa 1988-89'ish if I recall... And YES I still have said image! She looked too much like Keith in the face, so I changed her markings, added lips and this was the result of the time.

In fact she was based upon Janet Jackson originally (Rhythm Nation, hair style and all). I was going through a teen age 'OMG I LUV HUR SO MUCH' type stage.

In the story, she was the only other individual who did not judge Rasheeda for WHAT she was. In fact, Janet is way young than depicted in this drawing, I made Janet into a bright eyed 14yr old. But she does grow/mature throughout the later stories.
