A species from a while ago that I did and still love.
Merga are fully intelligent (i.e capable of speech, language, religion etc.) creatures that stand roughly 4-5 ft tall. They live in villages and each region has their own color pallet that their fur and hair abides by.
**Markings and shades of the colors vary to the individual, but almost always the colors will be their regions. Their body types and fluff will also vary.
They have 4 ears, two that face forward and two that face backwards, and three eyes; the one in the center is meant to only be open to see in the dark. At that time, the two daylight eyes close. ("East" example is just showing that there are three eyes.) They have thick tails with fur on the underside and tip, and long powerful feet with three toes and a thumb. Their hands also only have three fingers.
*correct posture is to stand on their toes, but there are lazy individuals who stand flat footed.
SUB SPECIES: There is a sub species that have 4 eyes. They're physically identical to the main species otherwise. They will almost always be a solid red with yellow hair; again shades will vary.
Their villages are communities, they have jobs, homes the whole shebang.
