Yesterday, this was a $5.99 blank umbrella from Walgreens. Today, it is sort or like banana leaves but more symmetrical. Because the fabric is so thin, the marker soaked right through, and you can see the same pattern glowing from underneath... it's like a tree from sonic the hedgehog or something. It makes me stupidly happy, even though I'm sure having an umbrella open this long indoors is all kinds of inappropriate juju . At this point it's only marker, which will probably fade; I'll be going over it with acrylics to sharpen up the edges and make it permanent before I expose it to the weather. :)
