Its the aqueon one gallon yes i did get it at petsmart lol its a great beginners tank. how big of a tank do you have yours in and what type of fish have you tryed adding? I might be able to help you find the right mix of fish to go with your betta, i myself have 5 male bettas >w< oreo has to stop me from getting more when we go to the store.
I have the fluval spec 5 gallon "skinny" tank with enclosed filter. I have a heater keeping the water at a toasty 78-80 depending on the temperature of my room. I've attempted to add an African dwarf frog, and a panda cory catfish. The frog disappeared, like no remnants, nothing! I never even saw a toe nail. I checked my filter and cleaned the whole tank, never saw him ever again. The panda cory catfish he picked at non-stop until it finally scummed to its injuries.
From what I've read those were the two species who are 'usually' okay with bettas. Now maybe 5 gallons is too small for him to have tank mates? I've heard of adding in 3 to 4 female bettas to one male but I think he'd just eat all of em >.>
If you have any ideas of what else I may be able to put in my tank I'd love to hear, its such a pretty aquarium, I'd really like to have more than one fish in it.

Did you have hiding places in your tank? Are you feeding him live or pre made food? Live food a lot of times makes the more of a bully for anything you might want to add in.
Bettas are very smart fish they all have individual personalities. But sometimes it's just the environment, If there's not enough hiding places or if there just isn't enough coverage for ever thing to have its own hidding spot thing might get picked on or eaten. If he can see his reflection in the side of the tank or if you have one of those mere toys will make him be in his attack mode.
Corrys catfish ((all but the green corry)) are grate, ottos which are an algae eater, mystery snales that comie in i believe in three different colors, those frogs are ok, but sometimes Petsmart will get the wrong type of frog that looks just like it but has one extra toe. This type of frogs can run away from most tanks unlike the African dwarf frog lives his life just in water.
I would not add that many females to a tank for he will drown them.
Something else you might want to think of is how much time do you leave his light on for the tank too much light can make him cranky.

Wow ya sure do know a lot!
Heres a pic of the tank: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....tta%20tank.jpg
He has 3 hiding spots, but I supposed thats not enough for this particular fella. He eats a variety of freeze dried foods (blood worms, misis shrimps ect) and gets fed 3 to 4 times a day. He sees something in the side of the tank as he fluffs up all the time and darts back and forth. I thought he might have seen the picture of the betta on the side of the food cup, but after I moved it he still does it for hours a night. He also has a huge bubble nest, its looking really nice.
I'v put snails in there before and my other betta ate the antenna off the poor things, so I'm leery of adding them to this tank too.
Think he may just be a lonely only for now hehe, meh, whatever keeps him and me happy!

Yea you need to add things to that tank, silk or life plants are the best, that way it will not tare fins or leek plastic into the water. Adding A little bridge or something he can actually hide in from the light would be a really good addition to your tank as well.
Battas alright air breathing fish and love having something they can lay on right on the top of the water.
Yea -.- I'm a really big animal lover. Helps that I'm friends with a giy who breeds world famous battas. Yours is a cutie how old is he?
It's good that he has a bubble nest. that means he's a really happy fish. With the diet you have is really good but I only recommend feeding your betta 1 to 2 times the day, over feeding can hurt there swim blattet
To oreo: sorry love for taking over your page :P

Thanks so much for the info! I'll add a few more plants in there tomorrow! I'm trying to keep it zen and all natural looking so we sell a log ornament which he can swim into and around. He does enjoy sleeping by the filter, its a nice small fluval filter so he actually lays himself up against the intake and it holds him there, I put in a betta leaf and he preferred to sleep by the filter.
I'll also cut back on his feeding then, hes so cute when I walk near his tank he flips out and gets all excited! So I feed him, lol!
I've had him for a few months now, got him when he first arrived at my work soooo Immagunna say hes about 8 months? Give or take.
